2022 Met Gala Recap

3 years removed and we are finally back to the first Monday in May for the Met Gala! I am so pleased that 75% of the attendees behaved and respected the event. It is always a spectacle and fashion most certainly should be fun, but there is a line that should not be crossed. After all this is The Met not Coachella. There is a time and place for every type of outfit, save your duvet cover and macrame for another day.

This year’s Costume Institute theme “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” focusing on the gilded glamour of the late 19th century. Truly goosebump worthy. Now lets get to those that nailed the assignment:

Blake Lively and her dress that literally went form bronze to patina by Versace.

Those that made me laugh until it hurt:

Alessandro Michele and Jared Leto in matching Gucci rolling in looking like the Olsen Twins.

Warm and Fuzzy feelings:

Jon Batiste in Ralph Lauren.

Other notes:

Anything could have been called “gilded” if you put a head piece on…I’m talking about you SJP. Step your game up!
