Men’s fashion is such a fun task for me. Maybe because of the novelty, the majority of my clients are women, however the number of guy clients trusting me to dress them for things other than fishing, hunting or golf is growing. I am loving every inch of tailoring that comes with it.
One essential item I recommend adding into a man’s wardrobe post pandemic is a proper fitting sport coat in a textile that is flattering to his skin tone and can withstand the aggressive tropical climate we live in. Restaurants and hotel bars are packed and a simple polo and khaki will not suffice anymore unless you want to look dated or like Jake (the old school Jake. New school Jake has style!) from State Farm.
If a restaurant has a table cloth or a bar has a wait staff and table, wear a sports coat. This jacket/investment can be worn obviously with a button down shirt, if its relaxed enough even a slight V-neck tee and nicer fitting jeans. This look has an effortless formality and makes one seem polished and put together.
Summer Style Tip for Men
If you are looking to update or bring your style into 2022, add in a pair of fitted (not leggings) denim in white. Yes, white jeans. Please trust me on this. It can be worn with most types of shoes (cool kicks are the new dress shoe) and your sports coat. Feeling frisky? Try a very pale shade of pink. This is not your ivy league Nantucket red. This is a more classical, but distinguished island pink. When a shirt is that perfect shade of fade thanks to the sun and salt water.
