This holiday season remember that your presence is a present, so make it count with an outfit that shines. Check out my segment on Great Day Louisiana where we discuss all things holiday fashion.

Read the room

Dress codes can vary significantly this time of year. From black tie to ugly sweater themes, there are some simple ways to figure out the dress code before attending. 1.) Who sent the invite? Do they throw fancy pants parties? Or is it going to be a grown up kegger? 2.) What time of day is it? Chances are you will not be attending a black tie gala at 11AM. 3.) Where is the party? Going to the Roosevelt? It’s properly going to be pretty buttoned up. Going to The Boot or Parasols? Maybe some rain boots, stain resistant fabric and a pair of big sun glasses to wear the next day.

Sparkle when you can

Red, green, white and sparkle. I consider sparkle an honorary 4th holiday color. It can be fancy, it can be fun and it is always cheerful. When in doubt sparkle. If people don’t like it, they can leave.

Come on Barbie

In preparation for the forthcoming Barbie movie, I am prescribing a healthy dose of pink. It pops nicely with a holiday white. It’s sophisticated, sexy and warm.

Special thanks to Swoon Boutique for outfitting this segment.
